How do I start a distribution company in the medical field?

I am already in medical device sales, and have the opportunity with a friend of mine starting a company with a new product. It's a product that can be used to clean and is going to be the only one approved to kill hepatitus, and MRSA. How do I start a company because I figure if I start a company then I can have distributor reps work for me as I already have a job. My job now is not as a distribution rep. Any advice is appreciated.

1. You need to start with a solid well put together business plan. I know a company that writes great ones for cheap.
2. if the product is as good as you say then make the commitment to sell it yourself. reps will only sell what they can move quickly. as you know...or should...medical facilities are not quick to make changes and many times are under contract for specific items. thinking you have reps working for you while you are doing another job is a fallacy and prescription for failure. owned and operated medical company...full time or no time
